The Coricancha is located in the center of the city of Cusco, is the most beautiful Inca construction in large quantity that can be found today, the main part was destroyed to build the church and Dominican convent during the colony.

It is known as the Temple of the Sun, but its use went beyond the limits of the sun and its name refers to a place full of gold and that is what was looted during the colonial invasion as mentioned in the chronicles. The original structure of the Coricancha was made of stone and decorated with gold, which made the Qoricancha the most luxurious and opulent place.
