Overview
Llactapata
It is a very large archaeological center of which only 20% of the vegetation has been restored and cleared. The only access route is hiking and it is a stretch for some adventurers who do the Salkanta trek, Inka jungle and Choquequirao route heading to Machupicchu.
It is located at 2840 meters high, the site is small and although it has intriguing astronomical constructions it is overshadowed by the landscape, from that place you can see all the mountains that surround Machupicchu. When you are here you will see the flash of the cameras that take photos in Machupicchu.
The terrain is steep with parts of the Inca trail structure at the beginning and when leaving this area the terrain is more difficult and requires preparation or simply a lot of patience. Our programs are designed to avoid doing the entire route in one day, but rather you spend the night at the family home: Lactapata Lodge to enjoy more of the charms of nature and motivate the connection with nature.
