Overview
Q’enqo
It is a large rocky area, which was given the name q’enco (labyrinth). Today it is a mystery to find and pass through passages and tunnels under the rocks, but more surprising is the exquisite work on the stones for the finishes to create suitable environments to change the temperature and to be able to manoeuvre for longer decomposing bodies and complete the mummification.
According to the chronicles, the invaders tell first hand that they saw monkeys and their first description is that it seemed that they were alive, what the chronicles could not rescue is the process and neither could the invaders destroy these places that speak for themselves.
Q’enqo is well designed with large buildings that surround it creating a circle with the rocky area and passages in the Inka style. It is also important the privileged view of the city of Cusco.
It is located 5 km from the city of cusco and is part of the classic city tour.
