Machu Picchu

We will pick you up at the airport and drive to the Sacred Valley of the Inkas, where on the way we will visit an Andean camelid farm: llamas, alpacas, vicuñas and huanacos near Cusco, stopping at strategic places to enjoy the wonderful scenery and visit the Inka town of P’isac, then its charming traditional market. Overnight in the Sacred Valley to avoid altitude sickness.

We will continue to learn about the agricultural and mining technology developed by the Inkas, which today the local population still preserves these working techniques, allowing us to experience the salt mines, which have been an important resource for humanity since time immemorial, as well as to appreciate one of the centres of acclimatisation and domestication of plants. We will continue with more adventure descending by bicycle from Moray to the Sacred Valley and by train from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes.

The most awaited day has arrived! We will visit Machupicchu, emblem of our culture, and live an experience that will transport us to the time of the Inkas, surrounded by the beauty of the surrounding mountains, with a unique mystical panorama. We will take one of the buses that will take us to the historic sanctuary of Machupicchu and then we will have lunch at the Tinkuy Belmond Restaurant which is located next to Machupicchu. In the afternoon we will hike back to Cusco.

Today it is an incredible feeling to reach the Rainbow Mountain. Leaving Cusco in the morning, we will drive approximately 3 hours to start the hike to the Rainbow Mountain with different colored landscapes in the high mountains and glaciers around will allow us to enjoy the Andes, we will also explore the red valley, the landscape around will create a unique experience.

A day to explore the surroundings of Cusco. We will visit Saqsayhuaman, evidence of great engineering and Pucapucara (red fort, 3580 m) from where we will have a view of the valley we will explore and the surrounding mountains. The hike will take us to visit archaeological sites forgotten by time and covered by nature. In the afternoon we will head to Humantay base camp.

We will wake up with the glaciers all around us. We will start the hike towards the Humantay Lagoon, on the ascent the landscape will surprise us more and more as we look around us, the glacier and the lagoon and its super natural colour will make this a life experience. We will return to camp and continue our journey following the Inca Canal to enjoy the scenery to the fullest. Our transport will take us back to Cusco.
